Leeseul Park: Leeseul Park is a PhD candidate in the Department of East Asian Literature and Languages at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM). She holds a BA in political science from Chuo University in Japan and an MA in Second Language Studies from UHM. She has been teaching a variety of Korean courses and she is currently engaged in instructional technology and materials development at the Language Flagship Technology Innovation Center at UHM. As a teacher-researcher, her research interests include second language acquisition, language testing, and critical language pedagogy, centering around the relationship between vocabulary knowledge and speaking proficiency among Korean learners. Inspired by her teaching experience in Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Hawaii, she believes that since language learning is a life-long journey a positive learning experience in a pleasurable environment is important. In her free time, she enjoys listening to local artists and scuba diving to find Hawaiian Honu.
